I almost started to cry the other day when I read that there are over 100 different symptoms associated with Peri-menopause.
I swear: I have them all.
I tried to talk to my Women’s Health provider about some of my symptoms, but she just told me to take an SSRI and read a book about menopause.
It feels like my hormones are all messed up and no one is willing to help me with the root of the problem.
That’s when I decided I needed to have a better understanding of what’s going on during my cycle so I can talk to providers with confidence about my symptoms.
I started by trying to keep track in a journal. I would forget most days and then I’d try to go back and record how I had been feeling over 5 days or so. None of it was exact, it was a lot of writing, and it definitely didn’t help me get a solid feel for what was going on.
That’s when I decided to create an editable cycle tracker! I can easily edit the dates and the symptoms I want to track, and then print right from my home printer.

It even folds up into a nice little booklet! It has been so much easier to keep track of what’s going on each day/month, and requires very little writing on my part.
Editable cycle tracker details
There are 3 simple parts to this tracker:
- The Month-At A Glance
- The Daily Rundown
- The Cover Page
The month at-a-glance is especially helpful for comparing month to month and for being able to say, “wow, I felt fatigued 50% of the month,” or, “I’m bloated less often than I thought.”

The daily rundown allows me to give a little more information about the severity of each symptom. Some symptoms, like irritability, show up several different times during the month for me, but they’re always more severe in the 1-2 days leading up to my period. I figured this out by tracking!
I can also include any other pertinent notes, like if I had a cold, or something, that might have been the culprit of the symptoms that day instead of hormones.

And finally, you get a cute cover page just to pull it all together!

Why is it important to keep track of cycle symptoms
The short answer of this is, it’s not! You totally don’t have to do this!
But for me, it helps me feel empowered. I know exactly what’s going on in my body. When I talk to my healthcare provider I’m going to have actual evidence to back up what’s been going on with me so we know better how to help me find relief.
It helps me feel like I know what to expect, rather than being blindsided by uncomfortable symptoms.
It helps me give myself a little grace because I know this is hormones, not just me being a terrible person.

I’m excited to offer this in my Etsy shop for any other peri-menopause girlies who want to start tracking their cycle symptoms too! And don’t worry—it comes with an instruction booklet to help you assemble the booklet and start tracking today!
You buy this once and keep it forever, so you can easily keep track for years if you want.
