I was pushing through a hard intervals workout on my treadmill the other day when I realized something: staring at a blank white wall is THE worst form of motivation.
I knew in that moment I needed to design a set of motivational decor to hang in my exercise room. There’s just something about actually seeing the words “You are strong” that helps me believe it in those clutch moments.
I’m about to embark on one of the toughest adventures I’ve experienced yet: the Manitou Springs Incline. I have successfully run 3 marathons, 15 half marathons, 2 Ragnar relays, climbed a 14er (a mountain 14,000 ft tall) and countless other physically and mentally tough endeavors. But for some reason, these 2,744 stairs over the course of 1 mile with 2000 ft elevation gain, totally have me questioning.
Motivational Mantras
It’s in these moments, when we question if we can do it, that the way we talk to ourselves matters. These motivational mantras are some of the ones I use when I need to push through and finish strong. They are what I’ll be repeating in my head, step-by-step, next weekend on the incline:
- Fight For It
- You are Strong
- All it takes is Grit & Guts (my new favorite saying: see this post)
- You were born for this
- You can rest when it’s over
- Visualize the Victory
We all have tough goals we want to reach, and whether those goals relate to physical endurance, physical appearance, business, home, family, or school—we still need to talk to ourselves like we’re doing the toughest thing we’ve ever encountered.
Printable Motivational Decor
When you purchase this motivational decor set through my Etsy shop you’ll get all 6 unique prints in PDF and JPG!
(The frames are just for design purposes and are not included with your purchase.)

What You Get
With this purchase you’ll get all 6 prints in jpg and PDF form. Here’s a little more info about each file type.
The pdf comes in 3 sizes: 4×4, 5×5, and 8×8.
These have a white border around the actual image, so you’ll cut along the grey line for the print to be true to size (if you plan to frame these).
- PDF’s are great for printing from your home printer (I recommend using cardstock), or from your favorite print shop. Print shops usually have crisper quality, so depending what I’m using the prints for, I sometimes spend the money to print them at the shop.

The JPG files also come in three sizes: 4×4, 5×5, and 6×6. These will each come in their own ZIP file according to size. Printing as a photo is often an inexpensive way to print in bulk. Since I have a swamp cooler all normal paper turns damp during the summer, so I used the JPG option to print as photos.
- JPG’s are great for sending to a photo center to print as photos. I sent mine to the Walmart Photo Center and they had easy and cheap options for printing in all 3 square sizes I offer. *Note, there is NO white border around the JPG prints.

I chose to hang mine on twine, with clothespins, in my workout space. Don’t even ask me how I got the top left corner up there. It may or may not have involved straddling the treadmill arm holds.

These cute motivational sayings would be perfect in an exercise room, office, bedroom, or just hanging on the bathroom mirror.
Wherever it is, find a place you’ll notice it often. I hope it helps you smash those goals, whatever they are!
Love, Abby
