Timing is everything (free Printable!)

Two different conversations with two different sisters.

A chat with a friend.

A discussion with my husband.

A talk, and a scripture.

What these things have in common in my life over the past several months is that they all shared the same message with me. Different people, different times, same theme.

right thing, right time

My youngest will go to kindergarten in just 2 years. I’ve been a stay at home mom for all my parenting up to this point, and I’m starting to feel a sense of urgency to figure out what I’m going to do next.

I’ve tried SO many things over the last couple years. Some of them worked out, but most of them didn’t.

Sometimes that sense of urgency feels so real, like I need to hurry up and get it figured out.

But the truth is: I think the reason most things aren’t working out is that it’s just not the right time.

And that’s the message God is trying to help me figure out.

When the timing is right, and the choices are right, things will start to fall into place.

So all I have to do right now is maintain a patient determination. Keep trying, and keep waiting.

When it’s the right thing, and the right time, I’ll know—and things will start to come together.

a time for every season

To every thing there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven: A time to be born, and a time to die; a time to plant, and a time to pluck up that which is planted; A time to kill, and a time to heal; a time to break down, and a time to build up;

A time to weep, and a time to laugh; a time to mourn, and a time to dance; A time to cast away stones, and a time to gather stones together; a time to embrace, and a time to refrain from embracing; A time to get, and a time to lose; a time to keep, and a time to cast away;

A time to rend, and a time to sew; a time to keep silence, and a time to speak; A time to love, and a time to hate; a time of war, and a time of peace. – Ecclesiastes 3:1-8 KJV

I love this verse from the Bible. It’s so fitting for me right now. It’s almost like it was wrapped up with a bow and delivered just for me.

“A time to plant and a time to pluck up that which is planted.” I’m in planting mode right now. And who knows what will be in store for me when it’s time to harvest? Life is short, but it is also long enough to pay attention to the timing of things.

With this idea being hammered into my brain, I decided to make a free printable to share with anyone else who also needs a reminder to trust in God’s timing.

This 8×10 print is perfect for sticking on the fridge, putting in a dollar store frame for your dresser, or gifting to a friend or neighbor who, like me, could use the reminder of God’s hand in the timing of our lives.

I hope this will serve as a reminder to all of us that if something we want to happen isn’t happening, trust in God’s timing. He’s sees a much bigger picture than we can even comprehend.
